Course 101 Module 1: Basic Fundamentals of Electricity

LEARN: ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION, CONTROLS CONFIGURATION & OPERATIONAL FUNCTION
This Course will teach about the function of electrical controls, the interpretation of electrical diagrams and symbols, and the use of instruments for electrical troubleshooting procedures. This course provides both theory and a virtual hands-on experience with specially designed electrical control laboratories.

LEARN: MECHANICAL REFRIGERATION COMPONENTS AND THEIR FUNCTION
The First Course in the program teaches the fundamentals of heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration. It is designed to familiarize the student with the basic principles of heating and refrigeration applicable to HVAC/R systems. An emphasis is placed on the function and installation of heating and refrigeration equipment components and controls.

Course 103 Module 1: Introduction

The United States Federal Government demands that anyone who services, repairs or opens a condenser, fixes, repairs or disposes of appliances and/or parts of an air conditioning and refrigeration system, that contain a regulated refrigerant, must have an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification in accordance with section 608 of the Federal Clean Air Act. All technicians are required to pass the section 608 exam, to obtain certification in manipulation, correct recovery and handling techniques of refrigerants, established as of November 1994.
